Homeshare Opportunity – Great Shelford (CB22)

We are looking for a friendly and reliable person to share a home with a lovely and independent lady in Great Shelford.

The room available is a double bedroom with a double bed, desk/work table and wardrobe space.

The household also has the benefit of a monthly gardener and a cleaner who visits every two weeks.

As the householder will lose her 25% single person council tax discount, the sharer will be asked to contribute towards council tax and make a small, mutually agreed contribution to household bills.

There is no rent payable to the householder; Homeshare fees of £200 per month apply.

This opportunity would suit someone working at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus or nearby villages, as the house is located on a good public transport route into Cambridge and Trumpington Park and Ride.

Homeshare expectations include regular overnight presence in the home and helping with a few light, mutually agreed tasks, such as occasional shopping and keeping the house tidy. The role is mainly about companionship and offering overnight presence for reassurance for the householder and her family.

No personal care or regulated care tasks are expected.

A Homeshare opportunity is available in Brampton, just outside Huntingdon, with a gentleman who lives in a spacious home in a lovely village setting.
The room available is a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, furnished with a bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.

The house has four bedrooms and is located in a quiet area of the village. It is well connected, with a bus stop about 200 metres away and the nearest train station approximately 1.5 miles away.

About the Household
The householder enjoys a peaceful home life and values friendly company. He speaks English and has a little knowledge of German.

The gentleman is already well supported with:

• Cleaner – twice a month

• Gardener – twice a month

• Paid carers – two to three visits per day

The carers provide personal care, so this is not part of the sharer’s role.

What the Householder Would Appreciate
The Homeshare is mainly about companionship and having someone around in the evenings and overnight. Some light and mutually agreed help would also be appreciated, such as:

• Occasional shopping

• Light housework, such as light hoovering

• Watering house plants

• Occasionally helping with the evening meal

• If the weather is nice, it would also be lovely if the sharer was happy to join him for a short trip around the village or across the fields while he uses his mobility scooter, either on foot or by bike.

Homeshare Arrangement
There is no rent payable to the householder. A Homeshare fee of £200 per month applies, and the sharer will be asked to make a small contribution towards council tax and household bills.

Regular overnight presence in the home is expected.

This opportunity would suit someone working in Huntingdon or nearby, who would enjoy living in a friendly home in a village environment.
